How to get to us

How to get to us

From Manila there are just two ways to get here: by ferry, or by aeroplane. The variations of both forms of travel are detailed down. Go take a look. They both have their advantages.

Airlines (The trip will take around one hour. All prices are for “regular fares” ):

Most clients arrive in the Philippines via Manila International Airport. If you haven't arranged for someone to meet you at the airport you better read 'Airport Transfers' and 'Excess Baggage' before you proceed further. Busuanga Airport.

Depending on the day of the week, there are three to four daily, flights from Manila to Busuanga, the airport destination for Coron.
The new airport will allow larger aircraft access to the airport and therefore improve the seating availability.

The international code for the airport is USU. The flight will take an hour and you will fly south-southwest from Manila to the airport located in the middle of the Yula King Ranch on the north side of Busuanga Island. The airport is 28 kilometres and about 45 minutes by road from the town of Coron. All scheduled flights are met by an airline ground service representative and an open jeepney is provided for the Php 180.00 ride into Coron town. If you would prefer an air con van for the trip to town please ask, it can be arranged, though obviously at extra cost.

Ask the airline representative/driver to point out, stop at, the place you will be staying. Most places will be easily accessed from where the jeepney will drop you off. If you are carrying full diving equipment to Coron, and especially if you are with a group of divers each carrying full diving equipment to Coron, you should read about Airline Checked Baggage Limits and Excess Weight Charges. Pier House Palace can steer you around the pitfall of booking a seat and getting your baggage bumped if the plane is overweight.

Pierhouse Palace Asian Spirit

Asian Spirit: http://www.asianspirit.com/

Asian Spirit are another airline flying the sector Manila - Busuanga - Manila and they now operate the Dash 7, 50 seater aircraft, giving a greater seating allocation than ever before. At this time there is only one flight per day, but it is worth checking the link for alterations to the timetable; especially if you struggle to get a ticket with Seair.

The fare for a one way flight is around 5000 PHP. (September 2008)

Pierhouse Palace Seair

Seair http://www.flyseair.com

On Seair flight seats are limited, 19 seats is the total capacity per flight, and you may be told by the airline that a particular flight is fully booked during peak season. The airlines sell blocks of tickets to travel agents who book plush resorts and the airlines lose control over those seats. If those tickets are unsold they are turned back to the airlines at the last moment and are available to wait-listed passengers. Please make your reservations as early as possible. You will pick up your tickets in Manila at the Seair ticket office located at the front left corner of the departure building before you enter the terminal for your flight. Seair's ticketing office opens at 6am and the check-in time for the 07.15 early morning flight, is 6:30 AM.

Ferry:

Pierhouse Palace SuperFerry

SuperFerry: http://www.superferry.com.ph

 For the very latest schedules and promo pricing please check the Superferry website as this long standing service on the route, Manila - Coron - Puerto Princesa and the return is constantly changing both it's timing schedule and the ship operating the route. The current ship is the "Our Lady of Good Voyage" and there is only one sailing per week. I will no longer try to maintain an up to date schedule as the changes are too many so please go check the link.

The ship always departs on a Friday from Manila's South Harbour at the new SuperFerry pier situated behind the Manila Hotel. The official address is Pier 15, Eva Macapagal Super Terminal-Harbour Centre 25th St. corner Railroad St. Port Area, Manila When getting a taxi please do not confuse this with pier 15 North Harbour. You will sleep on the ship and arrive in Coron Saturday morning. You will be in time to have breakfast, check into your room, clean up, and have a beautiful day.

Tickets for Superferry can be purchased at the pier just prior to departure or you could use any of the WG&A ticket outlets around Manila, or most Travel Agents in Manila. Alternatively you could try booking online via Superferry.

For tourists lodging in the Ermita area a WG&A ticket outlet is located on the ground floor of the high rise shopping mall and office building on the corner of United Nations (UN) Avenue and Taft Avenue next to the LRT (Light Rail Transit) station. Look for Alexis Travel's counter just inside of the ground floor door facing the LRT. They are on-line with the WG&A computer and can write your ticket for you.

We recommend buying the ticket without meals and insurance and then buying what food you prefer from the snack bar or restaurant on the ship. Personally, there are outlets for McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's and many others on United Nations Avenue which can provide packaged food to take on the ship.

In Coron when you disembark you will take a tricycle (125cc motorcycle with sidecar) to the market. The tricycle will depart the pier area and turn left. The market is about 2 km away. The fare for the tricycle is P30 if you share it with anyone who can pile in at anytime after they wave the trike to a stop, or P10 if you rent the whole trike. With any luggage and a traveling companion or two, just tell the trike driver "Market, direcho" which means go directly without stopping.

Ticket prices are currently as follows but please check via the link to make sure they have not been changed without me noticing.

* Economy Php 1,717.07 per person, one-way
* Tourist Php 2,208.42 per person, one-way
* Cabin Php 2,759.68 per person, one-way Note: Cabins for 4 and for 6 persons are available.
* Stateroom Php 6,681.81 per two persons, one-way

All prices exclude meals.
NOTE: All accommodations are per head basis except for a Stateroom which is on a room rate basis for two persons.
Schedules and Fares are subject to change without prior notice.

Leaving from Pier 15 every Friday at 04:15pm. Arriving at Coron Harbour on Saturday 05:30am.
The fare for a one way trip is between 1000 and 4000 PHP. (September 2008)

Pierhouse Palace Negros Navigation

Negros Navigation: http://www.negrosnavigation.ph
Not available at the moment!

 This service is operated by Nenaco - Negros Navigation - on the route, Manila - Coron - Puerto Princesa and the return, and adds some welcome competition to the long established service offered by Superferry: offers will probably abound so keep checking the respective links for updates. All prices quoted on this page are for standard, turn-up-on-the-day and book prices and exclude food. Since Negros started their service we have seen no increase in prices from other operators which just goes to prove the theory - competition works!

The ship, the San Paolo, departs on Thursday at 4.00pm from Manila's North Harbour at pier 2, and arrives in Coron at 4.00am Friday. With a sailing time of 12 hours it is 1 hour 15 minutes faster than the Superferry service. From Coron it sails to Puerto Princesa departing Fridays at 5.00am arriving Fridays at 5.30pm. The return itinerary departs Puerto Princesa on Saturdays at 9.00am, arriving Coron Saturdays at 9.30pm; departing Coron Saturdays at 10.30pm arriving Manila Sundays at 10.30am.

Prices per person Manila to Coron one way , which are subject to change and offers are as follows
* Economy Pesos 1,702.21
* Tourist Pesos 2,193.41
* Admiral Pesos 2,744.68
* Suite Pesos 3,325.95

Personally, I have tried this service yet and was very pleased about. The shipping line wins many awards for it's terminals and the ship appears, from the photographs, to be of a high standard - maybe the best!

Pierhouse Palace Coron Pier

Upon reaching CORON HARBOUR there are trycicles waiting to give you a ride to Coron Market. The rate is around 30 PHP per person.
Going from Coron to the Resort There are BUSES & JEEPNEYS standing by the Coron Market. The rate is about 70 PHP and they are going everyday between 9am - 12am to Concepcion Village. Just tell the driver to drop you off at Pierhouse Palace and you have a 30 meters walk only to our Resort.
